Avoid FOMO this half term as Snowdonia360 sees huge upsurge in bookings
26th MayIf you’re planning a staycation to North Wales this half term – we highly recommend you plan ahead and prebook your activities to avoid FOMO (the fear of missing out!). Since recent announcements surrounding the easing of lockdown, members of the Snowdonia 360 have collectively reported a steep influx in bookings and enquiries.
Following long intermittent periods of closure, North Wales’ leading attractions and hospitality venues are embracing news of a pathway out of lockdown and are already welcoming tourists to the region.
Snowdon Mountain Railway has reported a 900% increase in bookings since restrictions were lifted, with an average of 100 bookings each day. Similarly, all underground adventure activities based at Blaenau Ffestiniog have revealed a huge increase in tour bookings this week as has Welsh Mountain Zoo, with some weekends already fully booked.
Demand for Zipworld summer bookings is beyond 2019 figures already, even during peak period, whilst bookings for accommodation made via the ZipWorld site reveal a marked shortage of available bed stock for Summer 2021.
Other hotels including Plas Weunydd Hotel are approaching full capacity whilst Llechwedd Glamping Pods are now at 100% capacity during Summer.
Sian Pritchard of Snowdonia 360 commented: “It’s fantastic to see so much interest in a visit to North Wales in terms of benefits for the wider economy, as well as individual benefits for our attractions, accommodation providers, and hospitality venues. It has, of course, been an incredibly testing time for our members and it’s important that we maximise the opportunities of the coming summer months, when more and more people will be looking to holiday within the UK.
“The relaunch of the Snowdonia360 route will help visitors plan their stay and indeed their route, allowing people to create their own unique visit. We have seen web hits increase significantly day on day and are incredibly pleased to see a continued rise in the use of this brilliant free online and hard copy resource.”
