The National Slate Museum is currently closed in order to carry out an exciting redevelopment programme.
The project will breathe new life into this much-loved Museum and will safeguard the spectacular historic buildings and globally important collections so that future generations can experience and enjoy the incredible story of slate.
There’s lots to be done, so we are temporarily closing the Museum in order to carry out all conservation and renovation work safely and as quickly as possible.
Things won’t stop whilst we’re closed! In 2025 we’ll be taking the museum on the road and ‘popping up’ in nearby places, from local attractions to community events.
